Dr Trylon Tsang began his career in the Canadian Army Reserves in 2001 as a Medical Technician after graduating at the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry until moving to Australia for medical school on a scholarship in 2004.
He graduated from Sydney University with Honours in 2007 and was a trainee in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthetics for a decade, then stepped into sole practice. Dr. Tsang has received a Merit Certificate for high performance on the Physiology Exam for Anaesthetists. He has done two fellowships in NSW including one in aeromedical retrieval and a fellowship in Canada focusing on complex high-risk surgery including vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, upper gastrointestinal surgery, ENT surgery, and hepatobiliary cases. Throughout training, Dr. Tsang has worked in high-risk obstetric units in tertiary centres and has had extensive paediatric experience. He specialises in regional anaesthesia.
Dr Tsang has worked in every state and territory in Australia with his early training spent in Sydney at hospitals including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, and Nepean Hospital. He has worked at multiple rural and regional centres including Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and experienced in working in areas with limited resources.
Dr Tsang has also completed his Canadian medical licensing exams and anaesthetic exams which allowed him to be fully qualified to work in Canada that included Vancouver General Hospital, BC Women’s Hospital, UBC Hospital, and Richmond Hospital. He moved to work at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and is now working in private practice.
Dr Tsang has been fortunate to enjoy a broad range of practice that includes, but not limited to, High-Risk Surgery and Acute Surgery, Regional Anaesthesia, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Bariatrics, Orthopaedic Surgery, ENT Surgery, and Ophthalmic Anaesthesia.
Outside of work, Dr Tsang values time with his family. He enjoys physical conditioning and rehabilitation, bushwalking, and music.
