Children and Anaesthesia

If your child needs a procedure requiring an anaesthetic, it can be a very anxious time for parents and the child. Our aim is to minimise this stress and put everyone involved more at ease. As all of our anaesthetists have children, many of whom have had an anaesthetic here on the Sunshine Coast, we are aware of the potential anxiety created by these events.

We have come up with a few frequently asked questions relating to your child having an anaesthetic. Hopefully, this will answer a majority of your questions and reduce any anxiety you may be having leading up to your child’s procedure. If you have any further questions, please write them down to discuss them with your anaesthetist on the day of the procedure. If you have more urgent questions, please contact our rooms during office hours, and we will arrange a time to contact you to discuss your concerns.
